Charter Offers Southeast Division Customers Expanded On-Demand Content Through Broadbus Platform

ST. LOUIS - Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) today announced that, as part of its continuing focus on enhancing the customer experience and expanding its digital product offerings, the Company has installed the Broadbus Technologies, Inc. B-1™ Video Server to enable on-demand video entertainment to 1.2 million homes in its Southeast Division. The technology supports the growing popularity of Charter On Demand by allowing Charter to deliver more on-demand content and other services to its customers.

"The deployment of the B-1 Video Server is a significant upgrade to the digital video services we currently offer our Southeast Division customers," said Pragash Pillai, Charter Vice President of Advanced Engineering, Digital Video. Pillai continued: "Since the Broadbus architecture can stream a large amount of content in a very short time, we can provide more time-sensitive content, and the scalability of the platform will allow us to implement a wide range of advanced services for our customers, including virtually unlimited Television On-Demand content. Further, the greater stability of the Broadbus platform improves the user experience and supports more timely delivery of on-demand content."

The Broadbus installation completes Charter's company-wide adoption of an open standards video-on-demand platform that significantly expands its ability to deliver on-demand content and advanced services to its customers. Overall, video on demand is currently available to over 65 percent of Charter's 2.8 million digital video customers nationwide. With the deployment of the Broadbus video platform, video on demand is now available to more than 80 percent of digital video customers in the Southeast Division, and availability will be expanded further during 2006.

"Charter's deployment of Broadbus is yet more validation of our company's strategy to provide an open, best-of-breed video platform that is uniquely designed to meet tomorrow's on-demand requirements," said Vin Bisceglia, CEO of Broadbus. "Today Broadbus offers the most powerful solution for video on-demand, and the advantages of our platform will become even more apparent as companies such as Charter implement advanced services that take advantage of Broadbus' unique architecture."
